Job Description: Charge Nurse

This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Charge Nurse, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate patient care stay progression and unit goals. As a key member of our internal medicine unit, you will lead patient flow and adjust staffing levels to meet dynamic patient needs.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, resourcefulness, tactful communication abilities, flexibility, adaptability, decisiveness, and awareness of global hospital needs. They will assume a patient assignment determined by the needs of the unit and collaborate with the interprofessional team to ensure seamless care coordination.

Patient Care Responsibilities:
  • Maintain ongoing assessments of patients' acuity and staff workload to make informed decisions about staffing adjustments.
  • Triage and prioritize admissions while overseeing care coordination for discharges and transfers.
  • Demonstrate effective decision-making behaviors to balance changes in patient acuity and census with available staff resources.
Professional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent experience.
  • Current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
Benefits and Compensation

Salary range $73,000 - $110,000 annually depending on experience.
