Responsibilities:
  • Manage the accounting processes for small businesses, including maintaining their accounting systems and preparing financial statements on various bases of accounting (e.g., accrual, cash).
  • Prepare accurate and timely payroll checks and ensure compliance with all relevant payroll tax regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with third-party vendors to streamline work processes and maintain high standards of accuracy.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the firm's policies, procedures, and culture.
  • Possess a working knowledge of local tax laws, payroll regulations, and state sales tax requirements.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience at a public accounting firm, specializing in preparing financial statements on various bases of accounting.
  • Proficiency in maintaining both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Ability to manage accounts receivable and accounts payable subsidiary ledger systems effectively.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in QuickBooks, data input, and processing.

  • High level of intelligence, integrity, honesty, motivation, and aptitude for the accounting profession.
