Job Summary

As a CDL Truck Driver at WM, you will operate heavy-duty trucks with front, side, or rear-end load lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities. You will navigate high-traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots, requiring highly skilled backing maneuvers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate vehicles in accordance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections and document checks using the standard DVIR.
  • Immediately report unsafe situations or service-related issues to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings.
  • Work closely with the Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
  • Notify the Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including closed or impassable streets or alleyways.
  • Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or the Route Manager.
  • Completely dump all receptacles and leave the customer's location clean and free of debris.
  • Follow route assignments as directed and complete end-of-day documentation and check-out process.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen and DOT physical.
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A with an air-brake endorsement or Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B with an air-brake endorsement.
Work Environment

Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity most of the work day. Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds rarely. Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks rarely. Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the work day.
