Job Summary

The Child Development Specialist will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for infants aged six weeks to one year old, promoting their social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build Relationships: Establish genuine connections with each child, fostering a sense of trust and security.
  • Plan and Implement Activities: Prepare engaging materials and learning activities that encourage children to explore and learn about their environment.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work with the co-teacher to implement the Balanced Learning curriculum, ensuring a cohesive and effective learning experience.
  • Maintain a Safe and Healthy Environment: Ensure the classroom is well-kept, clean, and organized, promoting a sense of calm and focus.
  • Observe and Assess: Continuously observe and assess each child's progress, adjusting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the Infant Care Professional must possess:

  • Early Childhood Education Certification: A valid certification in early childhood education, such as a CDA or state-specific certification.
  • Experience Working with Infants: A minimum of one year of experience working with infants, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues.
