About the Team

The Privacy and Security team at ByteDance is dedicated to developing a configurable and user-friendly platform for managing all data within ByteDance's internal systems, ensuring compliance with global privacy and regulatory standards.


Our services primarily support:
R&D personnel, legal teams, data protection teams, and others within ByteDance.

The PnS SRE team focuses on the planning, construction, and operation of distributed compliance data centers for ByteDance across multiple global regions; establishing robust monitoring and alert systems, conducting fault drills, identifying risks, and facilitating architectural enhancements.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the lifecycle management of compliance data centers, focusing on cost efficiency, operational improvement, and stability;

- Ensure the reliability and stability of ByteDance's compliance data centers, including accountability for the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) of core PnS products;

- Engage in the design, development, and enhancement of stability-related products, addressing efficiency and reliability;

- Evaluate existing architectures, identify risks, and implement solutions to mitigate architectural vulnerabilities;

- Develop and refine monitoring and alert systems, contingency plans, and participate in drills, incident reviews, and other stability-related activities;

- Exhibit a passion for architecture, cutting-edge technologies, and software development.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;

- Strong foundational knowledge in computer software; familiarity with Linux operating systems, storage, network I/O, and related principles;

- Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, or C++;

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills;

- Demonstrated experience in analyzing and troubleshooting distributed systems;

Preferred Qualifications

- Ability to excel in a dynamic environment;

- Strong product sense and solid system design capabilities;

- Systematic and structured problem-solving skills with a strong sense of ownership;

- Experience with large-scale distributed systems in the SAAS, PAAS, or IAAS domains is advantageous.
