Job Summary

The Claremont Colleges Services (TCCS) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated STEM Librarian to join our team. As a key member of our Research, Teaching, and User Services division, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert research support, teaching information literacy, and developing collections that meet the needs of our STEM communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Research Support
    • Develop and deliver information literacy instruction sessions for STEM students and faculty
    • Provide research support and guidance to students and faculty in STEM fields
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in STEM research and instruction
  • Collection Development
    • Develop and maintain collections that meet the research and teaching needs of our STEM communities
    • Collaborate with faculty and other librarians to identify and acquire relevant resources
  • Library and Professional Service
    • Participate in library-wide planning and assessment projects
    • Engage in professional development and networking opportunities to stay current with best practices in STEM librarianship
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or related field from an ALA-accredited program
    • Experience working in an academic library, preferably in a STEM-related role
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity in library services
    • Excellent teaching and communication skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and other librarians
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • STEM Background
    • Undergraduate or graduate degree in a STEM field
  • Library Experience
    • Experience working in a library, preferably in a STEM-related role
Work Environment

The regular hours for this full-time position are 40 hours scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday for 12 months annually. May be required to work holiday, weekend, and/or evening hours. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or business unit.
