Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Passaic County Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting bids and procurement solicitations, reviewing and negotiating purchase contracts, and ensuring compliance with College policy and State contract law.

• Conduct bids, requests for proposal (RFPs), and requests for qualifications (RFQs), including drafting bid documents, coordinating submissions, and analyzing responses.
• Maintain bid files, schedules, and related recordkeeping duties.
• Negotiate various types of agreements for goods and services.
• Review the terms of proposed purchase contracts.
• Maintain business relationships with vendors.
• Conduct market research and related data analysis.
• Respond to and resolve both internal and external inquiries.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable New Jersey State procurement laws and College policy.

• Minimum two years of experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain.
• Experience conducting bids or formal solicitations, preferably public bids for a Government entity or similar organization.
• Familiarity with NJ State procurement laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with common commercial contract language, including the Uniform Commercial Code.
• Experience independently negotiating contracts for goods and services.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in writing.
• Bachelor's degree (Required).
