About the Position:

The Patient Care Technician will provide indirect patient care in the Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting. This role requires effective communication with patients, families, departmental staff, and medical staff. The PCT will prepare and compile records in the Medical Surgical Unit or Telemetry Unit, initiate directions from physicians and nursing staff, and participate in performance improvement activities. This position serves patients from adolescent to geriatric age ranges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide indirect patient care in the Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting
  • Meet the communication needs of patients, families, departmental staff, and medical staff
  • Prepare and compile records in the Medical Surgical Unit or Telemetry Unit
  • Initiate directions from physicians and nursing staff
  • Participate in performance improvement activities

Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Successful completion of certified nursing assistant program
  • Certifications as indicated by the Steward Certification document
  • Minimum of six months to one year of related work experience preferred
