Job Summary:

First Student is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Bus Monitor. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational oversight and day-to-day management of bus routes
  • Assist drivers in safe operation of routes, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Communicate with school personnel, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and safe transportation experience
  • Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus and assist with loading and unloading students
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the bus is in good working condition

Requirements:

  • Good verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Early morning availability and ability to manage high degrees of stress
  • Judgement and problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
