Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Big Data Search and Exploitation Engineer to join our team at Strategic ASI. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the development and maintenance of systems utilizing Elasticsearch and other big data search technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the transition of Java/Springboot applications to a Python-based solution interfacing with Elasticsearch.
  • Maintain the legacy search environment until its retirement.
  • Provide new feature development and ongoing operations and maintenance of the next-generation platform.
  • Work within a dynamic Agile environment, supporting integration with multiple applications and representing the development team in Technical Exchange meetings.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience developing solutions with Elasticsearch.
  • Proficiency in development and support of Java/Springboot applications.
  • Strong expertise in Python development.
  • Experience supporting multiple inter-related services.
  • Familiarity with REST services.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Services and Cloud-based development, including EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, and VPC.
  • Experience working in an Agile (Sprint or Kanban) development environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to design technical plans, drawings, and models.
  • Proficiency in Systems Analysis to determine system functionality and potential outcomes.
  • Ability to identify technology gaps and propose innovative solutions.
Highly Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience with on-demand computing solutions such as Kubernetes or Lambda.
  • Familiarity with Big Data tools and environments containing structured and unstructured data.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and event management in AWS Services.
  • Experience in creating and implementing automation for cloud platforms, as well as monitoring and alerting.
  • Experience with authentication services and API Gateways.
  • Proficiency in deploying applications into managed cloud environments and configuring security features.
  • Experience managing CI-CD pipelines using tools such as CloudFormation and Jenkins.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical individuals.
  • Experience with specific technologies such as Springboot 2.79, Java 11.17, JPA, or Elasticsearch Java API Client.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving issues related to development across multiple security boundaries.
