Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor of Sociology to join our faculty at Coastal Carolina University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in sociology, conducting research, and engaging in service to the university and the community.

Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate courses in sociology, including introductory courses and upper-level electives
• Conduct research in sociology, including the advancement of new theories and principles to improve educational effectiveness
• Engage in service to the university and the community, including committee assignments, meetings, and scholarly pursuits
• Develop and maintain a research program that contributes to the field of sociology
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and programs in sociology

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Sociology by the time of appointment
• Excellent teaching and research skills
• Experience with experiential learning and community engagement
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
