Job Responsibilities:
We are in search of a dynamic and driven System Architect to spearhead and guide the technical design and strategic planning of our systems.

Your role will involve overseeing and evaluating critical architectural and implementation choices, including power and performance in thermally constrained environments, assessing silicon, data flows, and driving requirements.


This position demands exceptional communication, persuasion, and negotiation abilities, alongside a comfort in navigating uncertainties.

You will collaborate with fellow engineers to establish the best standards, methodologies, and practices in systems development.


  • Decompose user-facing features, experiences, and functions into relevant enabling technologies and modules.
  • Present available architectural alternatives, evaluate engineering trade-offs, and articulate recommendations to achieve product objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to comprehend the existing portfolio of modules and technologies, derive capabilities and cost functions, and formulate a comprehensive end-to-end product solution.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment through technical discussions, negotiations, and executive reviews.
  • Define and document system-level feature descriptions and detailed functional requirements.
  • Guide product features through the entire product life-cycle: from concept to market launch.
  • Review, influence, and challenge architectural trade-offs with data and innovative concepts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- 10 years of experience in consumer electronics or related fields
- Extensive experience in systems with complex interactions of sensors, actuators/displays, hardware, and software, meeting demanding performance and latency targets.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in SoC architecture, low-power design, hardware/software interfaces, bus protocols, and wireless technologies.
- Familiarity with hardware/software interactions, operating systems, workload estimation, thermal management, and power controls in modern SoCs.
- Previous experience with PCB technologies, signal integrity considerations, and co-existence/desense mitigation.
- Experience with complex systems incorporating motion sensing, computer vision, and sensor fusion elements.
- Exposure to various display technologies (LCD, OLED, LBS) and related optical systems.

Compensation and Benefits:
At Apple, base salary is one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a range.

This allows for growth as you develop within your role.

The base salary range for this position is between $197,400 and $296,300, with your specific salary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
