Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL B driver with Hazmat/Tanker Endorsement to join our team at MD&B. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting and delivering explosive supplies to our job sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport explosive supplies using Class B vehicles, with occasional use of Class C vehicles as needed.
  • Maintain accurate load manifests and vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed and balanced.
  • Receive and store products at magazine sites, and load them onto distribution vehicles.
  • Unload products at job sites, ensuring they are properly secured.
  • Adhere to all DOT safety rules and regulations, including accurate log-book and daily safety check documentation.
  • Follow state and local traffic laws and regulations.
  • Keep vehicles clean and maintain recommended maintenance schedules.
  • Communicate work status to supervisors and dispatchers, and offer cooperation to maximize truck time utilization.
  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Class B CDL license with Hazmat Endorsement, Tanker Endorsement, DOT medical fitness card, and acceptable driving record.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Successful class B commercial driving experience (trainee will be considered, but must hold appropriate license and have acceptable MVR record).
  • Ability to pass a background investigation, including ATF.
  • Solid understanding of Federal DOT/State regulations as it relates to hazardous material transportation, trucking, and interstate commerce.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to lift 50-80 lbs.
  • Work in outside environments in all weather conditions.
  • Work on uneven and loose surfaces.
  • Stoop and bend 30-40% of the time.
