The Breast Imaging Technologist I supports physicians in executing diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing patients and operating mammographic machinery to capture diagnostic images.

Qualifications

Education:
High School Diploma or GED is required. An Associate Degree is preferred. Completion of an ARRT-approved Radiography Program is mandatory.

Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in mammography scanning is preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Must be certified and registered by ARRT in Radiography and Mammography – RT(R)(M) is required.

Certification and registration by ARRT in Bone Densitometry – RT(R)(M)(BD) is preferred.

State license is required.

Additional Skills Required:

Analytical skills, basic computer proficiency, effective communication abilities, adaptability to procedures based on patient age, and the capacity to interpret information to identify each patient's care requirements relative to their age-specific needs.

Prepares patients for procedures and operates mammography equipment.
