Job Summary:
Meridian Behavioral Health LLC is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Addiction Counseling Intern. This internship provides a unique opportunity for students seeking 880-hour internship as part of an approved Alcohol and Drug Counseling program in an educational institution preparing students to become Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Practice the 12 core functions of Alcohol and Drug Counseling in a hands-on experience at a high-intensity MICD residential treatment program.
- Work in tandem with a full-time LADC and eventually complete 12 core function activities including but not limited to: comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, aftercare planning, consultation with other professionals, group and individual therapy, and psychoeducation.
- Demonstrate skills that benefit a therapeutic relationship, including good listening skills, compassion, trustworthiness, flexibility, and a willingness to learn.
- Completion of the internship is a requirement to become an LADC through BBHT.
