Job Summary

POWER Engineers Incorporated is seeking a talented civil/structural engineering student for a summer 2025 internship. Under the guidance of experienced staff, the successful candidate will learn to design overhead transmission line and substation structures, foundations, and their related facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Design overhead transmission line and substation structures, foundations, and their related facilities
  • Participate in sessions designed to develop skills and provide networking opportunities
  • Work under the guidance of experienced staff
Requirements
  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidate is interested in consulting engineering and the electric utility industry
  • Candidate is legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference given to applicants with a GPA above a 3.2
  • Ideal coursework includes: structural analysis, concrete, steel, soils, foundations, and surveying
  • Familiarity with design, drafting or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, etc. as well as Microsoft Excel is beneficial
