**Job Description:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Air Quality Scientist to join our team at the State of California. As an expert in airborne particle characterization, you will play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating environmental pollutants.

**Responsibilities:*

* Conduct laboratory investigations to evaluate airborne chemical risks from aerosols and gas-phase pollutants
* Develop methods to identify toxic particle sources using optical and electron microscopy, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, and also gas species with GC-MS and LC-MS
* Conduct community air quality, product emissions, and wildfire smoke studies, and respond to other health related air pollution emergencies

**Requirements:**

* Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Engineering Sciences or a related field
* Proven experience in airborne particle characterization and gas-phase toxics analysis
* Strong understanding of scientific principles and methodologies
