Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and assemble structural metal products, such as frameworks and shells, for machinery, ovens, tanks, and other machines, using stainless steel and following mechanical drawings and written and verbal instructions.
  • Maintain the plant's equipment, buildings, and facilities, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet food safety and quality standards.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting skills regarding maintenance, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic engineering, and work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to.
  • Communicate effectively with shift production supervisors and the maintenance team to prevent equipment breakdowns and disruptions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production and mechanical equipment, and document work performed on logs, reports, and worksheets.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area, and perform special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • English literacy, elementary level
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Strong trouble-shooting aptitude
  • 2-3 years of mechanic experience in a food manufacturing plant, electrical experience preferred
  • GMP/HACCP Certification (in-house)
  • Sit-down and stand-up forklift certification
  • Boom/scissor lift certification
