Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operate a point of sale system to accurately record daily transactions.
  2. Maintain precise records of meals served, including various pricing categories.
  3. Ensure correct pricing and change is provided during transactions.
  4. Monitor compliance with nutritional standards for student meal selections.
  5. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the service area.
  6. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to foster a positive environment.
  7. Support the manager with data entry and other administrative tasks as needed.
  8. Contribute to the processing of meal benefit applications.
  9. Adhere to the guidelines set forth in the Cashier Handbook.
  10. Participate in the implementation of multi-tiered support systems for students.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED. Successful completion of relevant training in nutrition and customer service is required within the first year of employment. Experience with computer applications such as email and spreadsheets is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods, work in warm environments, and lift materials weighing up to 46 pounds. The ability to navigate stairs may also be necessary.

Personal Attributes:

We seek individuals with strong interpersonal skills who can build rapport with a diverse student population. Good attendance and punctuality are essential for fulfilling the responsibilities of this role.
