Senior Biomedical Equipment Technician

MGH is seeking a highly skilled Senior Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team. As a key member of our biomedical equipment team, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, repair, and inspection of medical equipment, as well as troubleshooting complex technical problems.
Key Responsibilities- Install, calibrate, repair, and inspect medical equipment to ensure proper function and safety.
- Conduct thorough performance assurance and electrical safety testing on medical devices.
- Perform preventive/scheduled maintenance on medical devices as required.
- Respond to medical equipment problems in clinical or research areas, evaluating, troubleshooting, and correcting issues.
- Develop and implement solutions to address recurring problems and improve equipment management processes.
- Provide technical feedback for device evaluations and participate in installations and updates of medical devices.
- Teach clinical, research, and technical staff on the operation, safe use, care, and handling of medical equipment.
- AS in Biomedical Equipment Technology or equivalent level of education or experience.
- Minimum of five years experience in Biomedical Equipment Technology.
- High level of competence in repair of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and/or computer medical technology.
- Certification desired.
May work in clinical or repair facility with exposure to biological contamination, e.g., blood, and hazardous electrical or mechanical energy, e.g., high voltage.
