As a Gastroenterologist at UM Charles Regional, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care to a diverse patient demographic. This role includes responsibilities across various care settings, including outpatient, sub-acute, and acute care environments, ensuring comprehensive treatment for all patients under your care. The position requires a full-time commitment of at least forty (40) hours per week, with adaptable scheduling to meet patient needs and on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:Your primary duties will encompass, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of all patient interactions in accordance with established protocols.
- Promoting the objectives of Charles Regional through active involvement in quality improvement initiatives.
- Overseeing the administrative functions of non-physician personnel to ensure efficient practice operations.
- Adhering to organizational policies and relevant regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
- Participating in financial planning and monitoring expenditures to achieve budgetary goals.
- Exhibiting professionalism and courtesy in all communications, fostering positive relationships with patients and enhancing the practice's reputation.
- Engaging in community outreach and professional networking to bolster the visibility and standing of the practice.
- Collaborating with management to refine business strategies and operational approaches to maximize productivity and patient satisfaction.
- Contributing to initiatives aimed at improving care effectiveness and efficiency.
Education and Experience:
- Current medical license to practice in the State of Maryland.
- Board Certification in Gastroenterology.
- Current DEA or equivalent certification for controlled substances.
- Clinical privileges at a minimum of one affiliated acute care facility.
- Evidence of meeting Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for licensure and board certification.
- Demonstrated experience and qualifications relevant to the responsibilities of this role.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues, patients, and visitors.
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills in gastroenterology.
