Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Medic to join our team at Brevard County Fire Rescue. As a Fire Medic, you will be responsible for controlling, extinguishing, and preventing fires, as well as performing Advanced Life Support (ALS) at emergency scenes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fire suppression and rescue operations
  • Provide ALS care to patients in emergency situations
  • Operate fire department equipment and vehicles
  • Participate in training and drills to maintain skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Valid State of Florida Paramedic certification
  • Florida State Fire Fighter Certificate of Compliance or Letter of Completion
  • Valid Florida Driver's license
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and meet NFPA 1582 guidelines
Working Conditions

As a Fire Medic, you will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with varying temperatures, humidity, and noise levels. You will be exposed to hazardous materials, chemicals, and other substances, and will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, and will be on call to respond to emergencies at any time. You will also be required to participate in training and drills to maintain your skills and knowledge.
