Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and performing daily QC responsibilities to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with established contract documents. This includes direct oversight and review of documentation and physical inspections, as well as working with project teams to produce and document quality products.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement and reinforce the Quality Control Plan of the Project.
- Oversee and ensure QC for all project activities.
- Manage QC daily reports and delegate to supporting staff as required.
- Manage the USACE/NAVFAC Three Phase Quality Control Process.
- Manage documentation of work and required submittals with office staff and NAVFAC/USACE interface software.
- Oversee testing and coordinate with on-site third-party labs.
- Manage, schedule, and direct the activities of direct subordinates on the project site.
- Ensure compliance to contract plans, specifications, and relevant ASTM, COE, and applicable test procedures.
- Determine, communicate, and document deficiencies and ensure they are corrected in a timely manner.
- Maintain current records providing factual evidence that required quality control activities and/or tests have been performed.
- Participate and document all completion inspections, punch-out, pre-final, and final acceptance.
- Act as liaison and point of contact for the NAVFAC/USACE and SWCP.
- Track required submittals, project RFI's, and any contract changes/change orders/VE's for the project.
- Experience working on USACE construction projects with at least 5 years' experience as a QC manager on USACE construction projects.
- 10 years combined experience as a superintendent, QC manager, project manager, or project engineer on military or FAA airfield projects.
- 5 years airfield concrete pavement experience as a QC Manager.
- Current USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certification.
- Proficiency with RMS 3.0 and ECMS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Able to pass a drug test.
- Able to obtain Federal Clearance to access Military Installations.
- Current certification for, or ability to take and pass ACI Transportation Inspector certification.
This is a fast-paced working environment. We come to work to work. The working conditions will include travel to all parts of the western United States and possibly abroad. Hours will be mandated by project activities, but night work will be required, some weekend work will be required, and some extended hours will be required.
This is a salaried position where the right applicant will be directly supervising and scheduling the activities of one to two individuals on the project site. There will be some exposure to normal construction materials such as concrete, cement, fly ash, slag cement, aggregates, epoxies, solvents, etc. There will be exposure to loud noises both from construction equipment and nearby jet engines. There will be exposure to weather both hot and cold as this position will require extended outdoor working hours. There will be times where close quarter contact will be required such as working in small office trailers. At times the primary access to restrooms will be on-site j-johns.
