Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Actalent. The ideal candidate will have experience in blood draws, specimen collection, and laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
Collect and store specimens according to established procedures
Explain the process of venipuncture and specimen collection to patients
Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required
Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature
Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
Attend annual department trainings and answer telephone calls

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
Pediatric and Geriatric experience
