Position: Lead Educator in Special Education

Facilitate the delivery of speech therapy services and assess the performance of Speech-Language Pathologists, ensuring compliance with educational standards and regulations. Provide expert guidance to formulate action plans aimed at achieving targeted outcomes in the realm of special education and speech therapy. Act as an internal and external subject matter expert, frequently advising colleagues on complex issues.

Key Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities are representative of this position. The omission of specific tasks does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Additional duties may be required and assigned.

Engage in innovative work that necessitates comprehensive analysis to address and resolve a wide array of challenging and unique issues. Provide thought leadership and contribute to organization-wide initiatives. Support Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) by offering training and guidance on procedural matters related to their practice, ensuring effective service delivery and adherence to professional standards. Assist SLPs with daily responsibilities, promoting efficient operations within the therapeutic environment. Receive and process information from clients and other professionals to enhance communication channels and support seamless service delivery. Evaluate the effectiveness of services provided by SLPs, ensuring compliance with standards and identifying areas for professional development or performance enhancement. Offer resources and support to SLPs aimed at fostering continuous professional growth, aligning with best practices in the field of speech-language pathology. Ensure that all activities align with cultural values while fostering an inclusive environment conducive to client progress and staff development. May provide input to formulate action plans for the department to achieve desired outcomes. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Special Education, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field from a Professional Standards Commission approved institution is required. Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved director of special education endorsement or a valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in educational leadership at level SRL-5, SRNL-5, PL-6, or above is required. Experience in special education and speech therapy for diverse student populations is preferred.
