Clinical Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at Community Health Centers of Southeastern Iowa, Inc. in our West Burlington Pediatric Clinic.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain medical and/or social history and all vital signs and measurements as directed and document them appropriately.
- Assist the providers with examination of patients.
- Obtain and prepare specimen for processing as directed.
- Administer treatments, immunizations and medications correctly as directed.
- Clean, prepare and stock supplies in examination rooms.
- Maintain equipment and supplies including those in the emergency kit: cleans and sterilizes any and all instruments.
- Maintain records and reports all data pertinent to patient care.
- Participate in internal CHC/SEIA meetings and in-service training sessions as scheduled.
- Participate in professional continuing education, including current CPR certification.
- As assigned, receive patient calls for appointments and schedule patient as appropriate.
- Assist coworkers in patient care or other tasks in order to maintain an even flow of patients and paperwork.
- Perform lab tests as assigned and is responsible for running controls and record keeping.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of CHC's Mission Statement in performing all aspects of this position.
- Display a caring and helpful attitude when interacting with patients, vendors and fellow employees. Strive to build cooperative partnerships, by treating all people both inside and out of CHC as a customer.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other clinic personnel.
- Handles confidential information with tact and discretion on a need-to-know basis.
- Follows established policies and procedures for safety, infection and exposure control.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
- Graduate from an approved Medical Assistant or LPN training program.
- Must be certified by a national association (e.g. AAMA, NHA, NCCT) as a Certified Medical Assistant; or by the State of Iowa as LPN.
