Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Professional to join our team at New Wave People. As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a correctional facility setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive verbal report from the previous nurse and review patient charts to ensure continuity of care.
  • Process physician orders, including inputting orders into the electronic medical record system and verifying new orders with a second nurse.
  • Administer medications to patients in various units, including RCTP OB, RCTP Dorm, Long-term Care, Infirmary, Therapeutic Behavioral Unit, and General Population.
  • Document medications given and refused, as well as any patient interactions or concerns.
  • Conduct regular counts of medications and supplies, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assess patients brought to the satellite unit and admit them to RCTP if necessary, documenting all relevant information.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and nursing care.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of New York.
  • Experience working in a correctional facility or similar setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
