We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Associate to join our team at the Pan Lab in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a member of our research group, you will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge neuroscience research using zebrafish as a model organism.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a PhD in developmental biology, neurobiology, or a related field and excellent communication skills. They will be expected to perform experimental studies using biochemical, genetic, imaging, and behavioral techniques. Additionally, they will collaborate with the PI to write grant proposals and research papers, and participate in laboratory upkeep and animal husbandry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct experimental studies using zebrafish as a model organism
  • Collaborate with the PI on grant proposals and research papers
  • Participate in laboratory upkeep and animal husbandry
Requirements
  • PhD in developmental biology, neurobiology, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Competency in productivity software (Microsoft Office) and image processing
  • Willingness to work with zebrafish
Preferred Qualifications
  • Molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, and laser scanning microscopy expertise
  • In vivo (animal model) study experience
