Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Scalable Solutions: Design and implement applications and data processes that meet scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and security requirements for mission-critical applications.
  • Implement Engineering Standards: Develop and enforce engineering standards and solutions to support applications and APIs that meet the growing business needs of Foot Locker.
  • Analyze and Improve Technical Debt: Identify and analyze technical debt in current systems and processes to identify risks and inefficiencies, and propose solutions to mitigate those risks.
  • Extend and Maintain Systems: Extend existing proprietary systems, stand up and maintain third-party platforms, write custom systems and applications, build integrations to applications/systems (both internal and external), and interface data stores and databases.
  • Mentor and Guide: Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Verify Components: Verify components at the unit and integration level using proven validation techniques.
Requirements
  • Expertise in Development: Expertise in developing world-class applications in an enterprise setting using Typescript and MongoDB.
  • Understanding of Architecture: Deep understanding of service-oriented architecture, specifically microservices architecture, and REST API concepts.
  • Cloud Native Experience: Hands-on experience with development and deployment of cloud-native serverless technology (preferably Azure).
  • DevOps Experience: Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery using modern DevOps tools.
  • Strong Communication Skills: High-energy, self-motivated, results-oriented with a get-it-done attitude. Capable of working effectively in a team setting.
  • Adaptability: Ability to handle changes in direction and work priorities with ease; is positive and level-headed under pressure; adaptable.
  • Passion for Quality: Demonstrated passion for quality and innovation with a customer-first attitude.
Qualifications
  • Education: Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Approach to Problem Solving: Pro-active and self-motivated approach to problem solving, including curiosity and passion for customer experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to deal with complex problems and present recommendations and findings in a clear, concise format.
