Position Overview: Housekeeper at John Knox Manor

John Knox Manor is in search of a committed Housekeeper to fulfill essential duties within our community. The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper is to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of shared areas, prepare living spaces for new residents, and provide regular cleaning services for independent occupants. Working closely with the Maintenance Director and Housekeeping Supervisor is crucial to uphold the immaculate state of the facility, apartments, and communal areas.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Must be detail-oriented, discreet, and maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Physical capability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Willingness to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, lifting, and pulling

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning and sanitization tasks throughout the designated property
  • Ensure bathrooms, kitchens, and dining areas are sanitized
  • Wash dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen items
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces within the building
  • Vacuum and clean floors, carpets, furniture, and drapes
  • Dispose of waste and notify maintenance regarding any malfunctioning equipment
