Bakery Cake Decorator

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Bakery Cake Decorator to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing designs on all specialty bakery goods, including cakes, tarts, and pastries.

• Decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items with creative designs and flair.
• Assist with the production of all mandatory bakery products, including parfaits, bars, and cupcakes.
• Produce in-house products to daily par levels, as specified on production sheets.
• Complete production and spoilage records, adjusting production sheets to maintain sufficient product.
• Prepare, package, weigh, and price bakery products for sale.
• Monitor product quality for freshness and ensure proper product rotation.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer needs in a timely and effective manner.
• Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.

• 6-12 months retail experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic math skills for recipe conversions and modifications.
• Good cake decorating skills, including ability to make flowers and decorative borders.

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency. You will be required to stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday. You will also be required to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
