Histology Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Histology Laboratory Specialist to join our dynamic team at K.A. Recruiting. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual looking to make a significant impact in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic analysis.
Embed, cut, mount, and stain tissue specimens following established protocols.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining machines.
Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of specimens.
Perform routine and special staining techniques.
Assist pathologists and other laboratory personnel as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Adhere to all laboratory safety and infection control protocols.
Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher in Histotechnology, Biology, or a related field.
Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is preferred.
Previous experience in a histology laboratory is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and basic computer skills.
