Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrolyzer Design Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design for manufacturing and assembly, with experience in electrolyzers or fuel cells. They will work closely with our technical development team to refine designs of our electrolyzer and key elements of the balance of plant.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design and improve existing electrolyzer designs with a focus on manufacturability.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to reduce the cost of our technology components and systems.
  3. Lead the development of prototypes from proof-of-concept to design optimized for manufacturability.
  4. Collaborate with the internal tech development team on testing plans and identifying suitable manufacturing processes and vendors.
  5. Prepare engineering documentation for large-scale production based on the final design.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or equivalent experience).
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in design for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and prototyping processes.
  • An established portfolio of independent and team projects where they took the product from initial concept to mechanical design to manufactured product, preferably in electrolyzers or fuel cells.
  • Skilled in CAD software.
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanics of materials and common alloys.
  • Familiar with current standards and directives in chemical and plant engineering.
  • Proven experience in SHE and Hazops.
  • Demonstrated ability of taking ownership, being driven, and result-oriented, holding yourself and others accountable for success.
  • Excellent communication skills, forthcoming in interpersonal relationships.
  • Demonstrated history of being a team builder and player, with strong communication skills and working seamlessly across organizations.
  • Highly structured thinking, including the ability to define overarching development plans and track plan execution among different team members and internal/external research partners.
  • Passionate about carbon management solutions.

Salary:
$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
