Job Description:
The Navistar Research & Development Team is seeking a Precision Measurement Technician to join our Advanced Technology Center in Elmendorf, Texas. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring dimensional conformance of parts using metrology equipment, including coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other precision tools.
About the Role:
- Responsibilities:
- Inspect and measure manufactured parts
- Implement ISO standards through internal audits and layered process audits
- Support PPAP documentation reports
- Provide leadership to the team with clear information and status summaries
- Analyze quality data and provide detailed reports
- Resolve quality issues through process design strategies and error detection tests
- Participate in continuous improvement projects
- Collaborate on data preparation and review for the quality lead
- Manage calibrated tools and perform operational testing
- Troubleshoot systems and equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and repair test equipment
- Perform general labor and other tasks as assigned
- Requirements:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- At least 1 year of quality inspection experience
- Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Desired Skills:
- Strong knowledge of metrology equipment and inspection
- Root Cause Analysis skills
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics proficiency
- AiAG PPAP documentation procedures knowledge
- GD&T intermediate level or higher
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings
