Job Description:

The Navistar Research & Development Team is seeking a Precision Measurement Technician to join our Advanced Technology Center in Elmendorf, Texas. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring dimensional conformance of parts using metrology equipment, including coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other precision tools.

About the Role:

  • Responsibilities:
    • Inspect and measure manufactured parts
    • Implement ISO standards through internal audits and layered process audits
    • Support PPAP documentation reports
    • Provide leadership to the team with clear information and status summaries
    • Analyze quality data and provide detailed reports
    • Resolve quality issues through process design strategies and error detection tests
    • Participate in continuous improvement projects
    • Collaborate on data preparation and review for the quality lead
    • Manage calibrated tools and perform operational testing
    • Troubleshoot systems and equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and repair test equipment
    • Perform general labor and other tasks as assigned
  • Requirements:
    • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
    • At least 1 year of quality inspection experience
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Desired Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of metrology equipment and inspection
    • Root Cause Analysis skills
    • Troubleshooting and diagnostics proficiency
    • AiAG PPAP documentation procedures knowledge
    • GD&T intermediate level or higher
    • Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings
