We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nursing Support Specialist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional nursing support to our physicians and patients in an inpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, as outlined in the patient's plan of care and/or as directed by the overseeing role, to promote comfort and/or return to functional health for the patient.
- Accurately observe, record and report to the overseeing role all patient concerns, symptoms, reactions and progress in a timely manner.
- Assist physicians and the overseeing role with examinations and procedures, as assigned.
- Contribute to the nursing assessment by collecting, reporting and recording objective and subjective data.
- Participate in the development of the patient's plan of care by providing data, contributing to the identification of priorities and assisting in the identification of measures to maintain comfort and support human functions and responses.
- Current licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses, or appropriate state board where services will be provided, as a registered professional nurse.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
- State criminal background check, and federal, if applicable, as required for state department of health (e.g. PA DOH, OH DOH, MD DOH, WV DHHR) regulated areas based on physical work location.
- One (1) year clinical experience.

- Protracted or irregular hours.

- Must have the ability to work successfully under highly stressful conditions, and must be capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be skilled with computer systems used by both physician offices and hospitals to capture data accurately and consistently.
- Ability to function as a team member in respect to organization, communication, and task prioritization.
