Dermatology & Advanced Skin Care OverviewWe are a well-established, multi-doctor dermatology practice in the Columbia area that is growing and seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team. Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and specialized histology techniques, including preparing tissue samples, identifying technical issues, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare tissue samples by fixing, staining, dying, trimming, and other methods
- Identify and document technical issues, quality assurance, and procedural improvements
- Use, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment, and keep a clean, disinfected workspace
- Receive, log, and document patient specimens and accompanying forms
- Responsible for Mohs Histo inventory
Requirements:
- Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a histotechnician or histotechnologist
- Experience working in a lab is preferred, as this is a critical part of the job
- Ability to work independently and with other team members
Compensation:
Pay starts at $30.00 per hour and increases based on years of experience.
