Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Counselor II in Psychology to join our team at Eastern State Hospital. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will provide direct psychological treatment services to patients, including comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and psychotherapy groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct psychological treatment services to patients, including comprehensive initial and annual assessments, restoration to competency services, and treatment planning services through core membership on a treatment team.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of patients, including those with severe and acute mental illness.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
  • Provide behavioral consultation to treatment providers and participate in program development as needed.
  • Supervise and train students (practicum and intern) as part of the treatment team.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Psychology or related field.
  • Licensed or license eligible as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
  • Experience with severe and acute mental illness.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with forensic populations, including treatment needs, means of assessment, and knowledge of how persons with mental illness encounter the legal and criminal justice systems.
