Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications / Electrical Technician (Senior) to join our team in support of the Cyber Security & Information Assurance (CSIA) Support Services office at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and Ft Belvoir, VA. This position will provide technical expertise to support the missions of CSIA and its associated managers and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain complex systems/equipment, including electronic systems/equipment, electromagnetic radiation (RF) spectrum communications systems, and HF/MF/LF/VLF transmit/receive antennas and tower structures.
  • Analyze network characteristics and recommend procurement, removals, and modifications to network components.
  • Design and optimize network topologies and site configurations.
  • Evaluate communication hardware and software, troubleshoot LAN/MAN/WAN and network-related problems.
  • Provide technical expertise for performance and configuration of networks.
  • Schedule conversions and cutovers.
  • Identify and correct system/equipment problems.
  • Interpret manufacturer's reference and technical manuals.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to system components.
  • Provide technical supervision and training to lower-level technicians.
  • Distinguish between hardware and software problems in multi-vendor systems.
  • Perform installation, test, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for communications equipment, electronics equipment, large computers, minicomputers, or microprocessors, including buses for those in a networked environment.
  • Install, operate, troubleshoot communications-electronics equipment, power distribution systems, signal distribution systems, and RF distribution systems for complex systems such as military shelters, aircraft, ground vehicles, etc.
  • Work from, and assist in the development of, engineering drawings.
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • As required, manage a team of electronic technicians.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related field (4 years' experience may be substituted for the degree).
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in fielding experiences integrating COMSEC equipment, including the KG-175A, KG-175D, KG-250, KG-255, and KIV-7M, as well as performing test and evaluation on NSA High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) and Link Encryption Family Encryptors.
  • Must be available to travel within 3 days of hire date.
  • Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a TOP SECRET Clearance.
