Job SummaryThis Cath Lab Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in the innovative cardiovascular program by preparing equipment and providing patient care in a sterile environment.
The technologist works closely with a team of cardiologists and electrophysiologists, ensuring high standards of care and assisting in the training of new staff members.
Candidates are required to have appropriate certifications, including American Registry of Radiologic Technology and Basic Life Support, to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities include:
- Preparing equipment before and during procedures
- Identifying and assessing patient condition, preparing, positioning, and providing patient care
- Maintaining a sterile environment
- Serving as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students, participating in the orientation of new staff
- Using downtime appropriately by stocking rooms, checking equipment, and other delegated tasks by Charge person or manager
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Complete Cath Lab RT Orientation within 6 months
- Complete all competencies listed in department policy within 6 months
- Education: Completion of a 24-month formal program or military program of Radiologic Technology with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist eligibility and/or current RCIS
- Experience: Previous Procedural Area experience preferred
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiographic Program or Cardiovascular Program
- One year of experience working in a Cath Lab
- Registered as a Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiological Technologist - ARRT or Registration from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International – RCIS
- Basic Life Support certification
- Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of hire
