About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at FLACRA. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and providing excellent maintenance services to our staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and complete maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs
  • Participate in building coverage, including evening and weekend shifts as required
  • Clean and maintain facilities, including rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, stairways, and windows
  • Operate hand tools and power tools to complete maintenance tasks
  • Assist with snow removal, lawn mowing, trimming bushes, and debris removal
  • Use brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, strip, and wax floors
  • Use vacuum cleaners and/or shampooer to clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and blinds
  • Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills
  • Replace light bulbs, which may require the use of a ladder
  • Set up and tear down chairs, tables, and equipment in meeting rooms and program locations
  • Pick up and deliver supplies and materials to programs
  • Open and close buildings according to security procedures
  • Provide assistance to officials, staff, visitors, and other employees as necessary
  • Report work accomplished to supervisor
  • Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency and one year of general facility maintenance experience
  • Basic computer skills required to maintain electronic work order tracking system
  • NYS Driver's License required
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions
  • Ability to relate to officials, staff, and public in a courteous manner
  • Ability to bend, kneel, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to continuous walk, up to 6 hours per day
  • Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow
