Job Summary

Resource Environmental Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Horticultural Assistant to join our team at our Brodhead, WI nursery. As a key member of our horticultural team, you will assist in various activities related to native plant and seed propagation, production, and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Propagation and Transplanting: Assist with propagation and transplanting activities in the greenhouse environment, ensuring the health and quality of plants.
  • Cultivation and Care: Participate in cultivation activities of outdoor seed production fields, including seed processing, and perform care and maintenance of containerized plants and seed production fields.
  • Harvest and Inventory: Conduct or assist with harvest of seed and plant materials, and assist with inventory counts and records maintenance.
  • Weed Control and Relocation: Assist with both chemical and manual weed control procedures in seed production fields, containerized plants, and off-site, and assist with relocation of stock and seed and plant order preparation.
  • General Housekeeping: Perform general housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: High School degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 or more years working in natural resources field operations, agriculture, or farm.
  • Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals when mixing chemicals.
  • License: Valid Drivers License, may be required.
  • Certification: Ability to obtain a Fed Med Card, may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift License: Forklift License may be required (would be trained here by our corporate trainer).
  • Greenhouse Hand Tools: Ability to utilize common greenhouse hand tools such as hedge trimmers.
