About the Role

InGenesis is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team in a dynamic and challenging role. As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing a range of services in accordance with privileges granted by the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pharmaceutical Management: Manage all pharmaceutical activities, including the purchase, inventory, control, and record-keeping of all Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) controlled substances stored in the pharmacy.
  • Facility Registration: Secure and maintain a current facility DEA Registration Number and maintain necessary legal records on controlled substance items.
  • Patient Care: Provide treatment of persons throughout the life span as appropriate to discipline and facility setting.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to and coordinate response to medical emergencies.
  • Prescription Management: Adjust prescription instructions and drug quantities to correspond to strengths and dosage forms stocked at the medical clinic.
  • Counseling: Counsel patients on the appropriate use of medication(s).
Requirements
  • Education: B.S. in Pharmacology or Pharm. D. degree from a program that is accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.
  • Licensure: Current, full and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state in which the duty station is located.
  • Certification: BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to pass a federal government security background check.
Physical Demands
  • Emergency Response: Required to respond to any medical emergency within 4 minutes, where a fast walk or jog may be necessary to provide assistance.
  • Physical Ability: Must have the ability to assist sick, injured or aging detainees or staff exiting the building during an emergency (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self).
  • Sensory Requirements: Must be able to see, hear and smell with or without the use of aides if necessary (exceptions on a case-by-case basis).
  • Mobility: Must easily alternate between kneeling and standing.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift, push, or carry 30 pounds.
  • Standing: Must be capable of standing on hard surfaces (cement floors) for long periods of time.
