Role Summary:

The Professional Land Surveyor will play a vital role in supporting various projects across multiple offices. This position encompasses office production, limited field surveying, and project management responsibilities. You will assist both field and office survey teams, ensuring quality control and supporting final mapping efforts using AutoCAD and MicroStation. Your expertise will be crucial in conducting survey research, performing calculations, and drafting written descriptions of land for legal documents in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily PLS tasks, including project budget oversight and invoicing.
  • Conduct thorough research of legal documents, public survey records, and title commitments to resolve property boundary issues.
  • Create Records of Survey maps, manage lot line adjustments, and perform ALTA-NSPS Land Title surveys.
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures, maintaining accurate notes and project materials.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong collaboration skills with team members at various levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of land surveying laws and regulations in Idaho.
  • Proficient in land surveying techniques, boundary control principles, and construction surveying.
  • Experience in resolving boundary disputes and creating Records of Survey.
  • Willingness to travel and work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Trimble survey equipment and software.
  • Experience in AutoCAD/Civil3D drafting; MicroStation experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of survey field procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Professional Land Surveyor License in Idaho; licensure in surrounding states is a plus or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient with IDOT Standards and survey requirements.
  • Experience with AutoCAD (Civil3D preferred).
  • Technical skills in various land surveying areas, including ALTA-NSPS Land Title surveys, platting, land development, and construction staking.
