Position Overview:
The Department of Veterans Affairs is actively seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to stent placements, PEG insertions, and esophageal dilations. Additionally, the physician will be tasked with diagnosing, treating, and managing patients suffering from liver diseases, Hepatitis C, and those requiring liver transplants, adhering to established medical standards in both outpatient and inpatient environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform upper and lower endoscopy procedures.
- Manage on-call responsibilities in collaboration with fellow Gastroenterologists.
- Engage in consultations with specialists and primary care physicians as needed.
- Participate in quality care initiatives and peer review processes as directed by the Chief of Medicine.

Additional Information:
- Recruitment incentives may be available for highly qualified candidates.
- The facility includes 55 beds, with an average patient census of 35.
- Complexity Level: 2, featuring a level 4 ICU and 24/7 emergency and anesthesia coverage.
- The call schedule will involve rotating responsibilities with other GI physicians, with minimal in-person calls required.

Work Environment:
- Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Support staff includes a mid-level provider, RN, LPN, and administrative personnel.
