Position Overview:
This position entails working autonomously to prepare, package, display, and stock meat products, ensuring alignment with the store's financial objectives. The role also emphasizes adherence to company standards for customer experience and compliance with safety and food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and produce meat products according to the production schedule.
- Package and label meat items as per program specifications.
- Merchandise meat products in accordance with flight plans and merchandising standards.
- Stock the backroom with meat products, ensuring proper rotation and dating of cases and buckets.
- Communicate with the Meat Manager regarding product and supply needs.
- Collaborate with other departments and stores to drive growth within SpartanNash retail locations.
- Understand and apply basic mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Effectively communicate tasks, recipes, weights, measures, and cleaning procedures to fellow associates.
- Adhere to all personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols.
- Follow food safety and cleaning guidelines diligently.
- Uphold guest experience standards.
- May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer service needs.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of retail or related experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents effectively.
- Basic mathematical skills required.
- Attention to detail is essential.
Physical Demands:
The physical requirements outlined here represent those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions. The position may require frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Associates are expected to stand and walk for extended periods and may frequently bend, stoop, twist, and turn.
While performing the duties of this position, employees may be exposed to a typical retail environment with varied temperatures and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is generally low to moderate. Travel requirements may vary based on assignments.
