Mechanic Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance on trailers, converter dollies, light duty vehicles, and other company-owned equipment to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance functions, including trailer repairs and equipment inspections, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues, and replace faulty components as needed.
  • Utilize the company's maintenance system to create, maintain, and complete work orders and vehicle maintenance records.
  • Assist with parts purchasing, inventory, receiving, and charging out parts to work orders.
  • Perform general cleaning and repair duties to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements:

  • 4 years of experience in fleet trailer maintenance and repair, with up to 2 years of technical training or schooling credited towards the requirement.
  • Knowledge and understanding of FMCSRs and DOT Compliance regulations.
  • Air brake certification is required.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers.
  • Technicians must provide all necessary hand tools (1/2" drive or under) to perform maintenance, with diagnostic equipment, major shop tools, and a secure toolbox provided by the company.
  • ASE certification is preferred but not required.
  • A valid driver's license is required, with a CDL Class A preferred but not necessary.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and work in inclement weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
