About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OB-GYN) to join our team as an OB-GYN Hospitalist. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide quality patient care and contribute to the overall mission of Prisma Health.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of quality medical services to patients, including diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease, defects or injuries. You will also recommend or prescribe treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental or functional ailments or defects.
Accountabilities
You will engage with patients to diagnose, prevent, or treat diseases, defects, or injuries, recommending or prescribing treatments as needed.
You will ensure that your medical treatment is consistent with generally accepted professional standards of care, without regard to race, creed, color, sex, religion, national origin, or age.
You will complete accurate, legible, and timely records with respect to all medical examinations and procedures, accurately using Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases codes.
You will provide after-hours call coverage equally with other physicians of the practice, unless there is an agreement otherwise.
You will comply with standards of accepted medical practice, rules and regulations of managed care organizations, and other payors, including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid.
You will enhance clinical skills by maintaining sufficient continuing medical education to meet the requirements of your certification and/or state licensing board.
You will participate in non-revenue generating activities that advance the vision and mission of Prisma Health, such as serving on committees, community outreach, teaching, research goals, and other activities determined by the Department Chair.
You will participate in responding to requests for proposals for managed care contracts.
You will assist in establishing quality assurance programs, utilization management programs, patient education services, and patient satisfaction programs.
You will assist in obtaining and maintaining any and all licenses, permits, and other authorizations, plus achieving applicable accreditation standards that relate to the business of your practice or department.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management role that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
