Position Overview
The Warehouse Associate I is responsible for the systematic and physical handling of incoming and outgoing goods. This role includes tasks such as receiving, inspecting, and verifying that all items match the corresponding orders. The position requires significant physical effort, including the ability to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs repeatedly and to remain on foot for extended periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the receipt of stock: This involves unloading delivery vehicles, checking for any damage, and ensuring that all items and their respective codes, serial numbers, and quantities are accurate as per the packing slip. Utilize handheld scanners to record received items and generate barcode labels for third-party products, while also assigning appropriate storage locations within the warehouse.
- Process orders for shipment: This includes the preparation of orders on a scheduled basis, collaborating with the Operations Manager to ensure timely dispatch.
- Conduct inventory management: Participate in regular stock counts, identify discrepancies, and assist in reconciling inventory records.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization: Uphold a safe and tidy work environment by ensuring all areas are free from debris and that waste is disposed of properly.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required, with less than one year of relevant experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment is advantageous.
- Must possess the ability to learn new software applications quickly and be available for overtime as needed.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs with assistance.
- Must be able to operate a forklift safely.
- Dependability and the ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision are essential.
