Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital. As a Culinary Specialist, you will assist in the preparation of food served in our facility, working under general supervision.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation of water and tea for patient lunch meals, executing diets, and making out diet cards. You will also record hot food temperatures, check food preferences and diet sheets, and serve hot foods on plates, maintaining portion control.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will assist on the cafeteria line, wash dishes, and prepare nourishment for patients. You will also stock refrigerators, pull old items to the front, and place new stock in back, following FIFO guidelines. Furthermore, you will load hot foods on steam tables, prevent food waste, and make suggestions for use of leftovers.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience in a food service operation. You must be able to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment. A ServSafe certification is also required.
