Paralegal - Statewide Expunction

Overview:
Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented paralegal to join our team. As a paralegal, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality legal services to low-income individuals in North and West Texas.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct client intake and screening
• Assist clients with expunction-related matters
• Conduct research and gather information for cases
• Draft pleadings, orders, and other legal documents
• File legal papers and interact with court staff
• Maintain accurate records and files
• Participate in outreach and community legal education
• Collaborate with attorneys and other advocates to represent clients
• Conduct occasional travel for work-related purposes

Requirements:
• Associate's degree and paralegal certification preferred
• Prior experience in legal services, public interest, or volunteer work serving low-income individuals preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain client confidentiality
• Fluency in Spanish (verbal and written) preferred
